Spring, 2013

On March 9, I presented "American Showstoppers: Jule Styne," with my 10-piece Fred Barton Orchestra and the superior talents of Vivian Reed, Damon Kirsche, Nora Mae Lyng, Karen Murphy, Pamela Myers, Jesse Luttrell, Tari Kelly, and Patrick Boyd.  The sold-out audience included Mrs. Jule Styne.

Here's a little sample from the show:

On March 8, Megan Hilty sang my huge new arrangement of Styne's "Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend" with the New York Pops at a sold-out Carnegie Hall, plus Loesser's "Luck Be A Lady," introduced by a brand new "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" overture I put together for the occasion.

COMING UP:

• 5 new orchestrations for Megan Hilty and the Boston Pops Orchestra for her May concerts

• A new "Classic Crime Themes" medley for conductor Steven Reineke and his "Music of the Mad Men Era" concerts

• A medley of songs from Styne's GYPSY for the New York Pops' annual Gala at Carnegie Hall.

• A new CD, "Pour Me A Man: The Songs Of Fred Barton," featuring my favorite singers from the world of Broadway and cabaret.

Jack Everly continues to conduct dozens of my arrangements and orchestrations in his concerts around the country.

Meanwhile, my TV shows continue to play for kids of drastically different ages: look for "Wonder Pets!" on Nick Jr., and "Cathouse: The Musical" on HBO, as well as "The Magic Schoolbus" if you're in various countries overseas.

My original songs will soon be available on Musicnotes.com, making it much more convenient to obtain sheet music -- watch this page for updates.
